CHALLENGE YOUR WEBFLOW SKILLS AND CONNECT WITH OTHER MAKERS IN THE #NOCODE COMMUNITY.
We’ll release a base cloneable with instructions and shared assets at noon (EST) on Tuesday, July 21.
All participants must start with the same base project and are required to use the shared assets during each round of the competition.
New assets (secret ingredients) will be issued each day of the competition.
In addition to shared assets, there will be a theme for each day of the competition in order to spark your creativity. The themes for each day, will be sequential and build on top of each other. Other than making sure to include the shared assets, participants can build whatever they want.
To move onto the next round, participants must submit their project by noon (EST) the following day.
To qualify for prizes and to advance to the next round, submissions should be visible in the Webflow showcase as a cloneable project using the following naming convention. (Day x | First Last Name). In addition to the showcase, relevant details should be submitted on the CloneComp website before noon each day of the competition. This will allow us to track submissions per participant and count official votes.
At the start of each subsequent round, participants must clone someone else’s project from the prior round and will have til noon the next day to build on top of that cloned design. Participants will once again be required to showcase and submit their project by noon (EST) the following day.
The process will repeat for 2 rounds, culminating in a final round of voting followed by a community happy hour/prize party.
Votes will be tallied daily based on number of likes on showcased projects, as well as number of times a project was cloned.
The competition will end with a prize party/happy hour 4pm (EST) Friday the 24th.
Like any good reality cooking show challenge, we’ll be throwing a few surprises at you along the way, so be sure to stay on your toes, and don’t get too far ahead of yourself.
Have questions? Join our Slack to chat about it.
Where do I start?
Clone this project and then delete the div that says "delete this" on the home page and build your submission. Be sure to leave the footer and submissions link.
Can I use custom code?
Yes. You can use custom code on your submissions, but understand that added complexity might make it more difficult for people to build on your project. Since CloneComp is intended to build off of itself as the rounds progress, this might hurt you in later rounds.
Can I modify the footer element?
You may modify the styling of the included footer to match your project settings, but it should remain in the lower left corner of your page. Furthermore, all elements should remain in the same position and nothing should be removed or resized.
How do I edit the footer?
The footer is a symbol inside of your webflow project. To edit it, double click on the element. Here is a video from Webflow on Symbols.
Does my submission need to be responsive?
All efforts should be taken to make your submission accessible on all devices, however scoring will all be done on desktop screens. That being said, bonus points will be awarded for fully responsive submissions.
Can I use Other Colors?
Yes. You can use any colors you choose, but you need to include the three required colors as part of your daily submissions.
DO I NEED TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL ROUNDS?
No. Participate as much or as little as you would like. That being said, prizes will only be awarded to participants who complete the entire challenge.
CAN I USE OTHER CLONEABLES AS PART OF MY SUBMISSION?
For round 1, you must clone the provided base. In subsequent rounds, you must clone another participant’s work and use that for your starting point. You can incorporate parts of other cloned projects into your submissions. (But we ask that you do not import content you created from prior rounds of the competition into follow-on rounds as the point of this competition is to challenge your creative process and design flexibility.)
HOW MANY PROJECTS CAN I SUBMIT?
Every participant will submit 3 entries over the course of the competition (assuming you submit each day). Entries are limited to one official entry per day per person, and must be submitted by noon (EST) each day as a cloneable showcased project. In addition to showcasing your project, you must submit your entry to this form to be considered valid.
CAN I ASK FOR HELP OR RECEIVE ASSISTANCE FROM OTHERS?
Yes. But please do not pass off someone else’s work as your own.
WHAT IF I MISS A DEADLINE?
You can still participate, but you won’t be eligible for round specific prizes. Not only that, but others may miss out on cloning your project, as it will not be listed in the showcase on time.
ARE THERE PRIZES?
You can see all available prizes listed in the about section above. We are still talking with a number of potential sponsors, and will update the page as we go. If you would like to volunteer a prize, please send us a message.
CAN I PARTICIPATE AS A TEAM?
Not at this time. CloneComp is an individual competition.

I’M NEW TO WEBFLOW. CAN I PARTICIPATE?
Yes. This is open to anyone with a paid Webflow account.
CloneComp is a great way to get up to speed with Webflow because you'll have tons of opportunities to clone and dissect other people's projects, and be challenged to build on top of someone else's work.
IS THIS EVENT ASSOCIATED WITH WEBFLOW?
Webflow is an official #CloneComp sponsor, however the event is organized by Raymmar Tirado, Colleen Brady and other leaders in the nocode community.
HOW CAN I FIND MORE INFORMATION?
We’ll be posting updates to this site regularly before and during the event. We also recommend signing up for updates and joining the Slack group.
HOW DO I ADD A PROJECT TO THE SHOWCASE?
In your project settings you can showcase a project and make it cloneable. Be sure to showcase your site and submit it through the official form so that we can keep others updated for each round.
Go to project settings and click showcase project
From there you can fill out the form and submit your project to the showcase. Be sure to follow the appropriate naming convention and select the switch to make your project cloneable.
HOW DO I CLONE A PROJECT?
To clone a project click on the purple clone button on the top right corner of a projects showcase page.
